What’s the point?

Do you ever sit around and wonder… what’s the point? What’s the purpose? What’s the end goal of life? Why do we work a 9-5 job just to buy bigger and better things? Would we be happy if we had less?

I often wonder what the point of life is, and to me… it’s all about building relationships. I’m not the most religious person in the world, but if you take a look at Christianity, that is the sole purpose of why God died on the cross for us. To build a relationship. And if we are built in the image of God, then out deepest desire is to build a relationship. Who that’s with is up to each individual to determine.

Like I said, I am definitely not a religious person, but I see the value in what Christianity has to offer us. Even if it is guidance in how to find true joy in our lifetime.

What breaks my heart is the damaged relationships with those closest to us that go unreported but eat us alive inside because of the bitterness we have accumulated.

My mom wasn’t the greatest when I was growing up, but there is no such thing as a perfect person. I could have cut her off and gone my own way because of the toxicity but I chose to understand the why. I listened to her version of how she became who she was. And if you listen to the pain in her story of her life before God, I can see clearly what I could not in my younger days.

To move to a new country, struggling with poverty, and being completely overworked… it changed my entire reality of how I perceived my mom. She is a saint in my eyes. She overcame so much adversity.

It’s my deepest desire to connect those with broken connections back to their roots, where it all started. And start asking questions about why they were the way they were to you. The answers you find may indeed shock you.

I love what you wrote! and I completely agree with you. Especially, that we were created in God’s image. I am new to Christianity and in all honesty I was lost last year. what I realized with my faith growing, is that we don’t put our faith into God. All the anxiousness, whatever it is we like to deal with ourselves. God created us to not only be an image of him but to have that love, connection, relationship we desire. I feel like a lot of people are idolizing society standards on like looks, or what to wear, more than how to fix a relationship that can simply be amended. This is my opinion on this but love your piece.

I love what you wrote. And it all rings so true. Society today is so concerned with artificiality that it lacks true depth and authenticity. I am proud of you for relying on God and putting all your trust in Him.

      all the best,

      -Mel
